The Star Wars Official Site updated yesterday with information confirming that there will indeed be a new run of Clone Wars cartoons filling in the gap between the live action movies Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III. Considered by insiders and outsiders alike to be complete after its initial run of twenty three-minute micro-episodes (split into two seasons of ten episodes each), the series will revive on March 21, 2005, and consist of five twelve-minute episodes (mezzo-episodes?). New fan favorite and ultimate bad guy General Grievous will enjoy an expanded role and according to Howard Roffman, President of Lucas Licensing, “This new mini-series will bring even more depth and excitement to the story of the Clone Wars and will lead viewers right into the adventures of Star Wars: Episode III.”
