Both Amid Amidi’s Animation Blast and Jerry Beck’s Cartoon Research alert us to what looks like a great animated short coming our way soon called Boy’s Night Out. The short was produced by husband/wife team Bert Klein (who has worked on Looney Tunes: Back In Action, Fantasia 2000, and The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King) and Jennifer Klein (who has worked on The Iron Giant and The Emperor’s New Groove and is the author and artist of children’s book Turtle Soup) and Teddy Newton (currently working on Pixar’s The Incredibles) and, according to Amidi, it is a “cartoonist’s cartoon.” It was recently nominated for an Annie Award and will have a special screening at the DreamWorks studio on Monday, January 26, at 7:00PM where other Annie Award nominees will be shown as well.
