Local Simpsons fans are rejoicing as Emmy Award winning voice actor Nancy Cartwright has chosen Toronto for the North American premiere of her one woman show My Life as a Ten Year Old Boy.

In addition to Bart Simpson, Cartwright also voices lovable imbecile Ralph Wiggum, bullies Nelson Muntz and Kearney, and choir boy Todd Flanders. Her non-Simpsons credits include Chuckie from Rugrats, Mindy from Animaniacs, and dozens of others.

Based on her best selling book of the same name, My Life as a Ten Year Old Boy is the story of how a girl from Kettering, Ohio grew up to become the voice of a cultural icon. It’s also a tale of life as an “anonymous celebrity”; a seldom recognized face with one of the world’s most famous voices. Filled with Simpsons voices and video clips, its great fun for Simpsons fans young and old.

Special Guest David Silverman – original Simpsons Director:

Simpsons fans will also be thrilled to hear from original Simpsons director David Silverman. Beginning in 1987, Silverman, together with Wes Archer, took Matt Groening’s crude sketches of a dysfunctional family and developed them into the characters we have known and loved ever since.

In addition to this early work, Silverman directed many classic episodes including Simpsons Simpsons Roasting Over an Open Fire (the first full length episode), Bart the Genius, Bart the General, Krusty Gets Kancelled and Homey the Clown. Silverman’s behind-the-scenes stories and fascinating character drawing demonstrations are not to be missed by any true fan of The Simpsons!
