Despite protests from long-time Disney fans not to create sequels for the older animated classics, Disney looks to be going ahead with a sequel to 1942’s Bambi. Many rumors persisted that production had been shut down on it as well as the proposed continuations of Snow White and Dumbo, and that the company would focus on follow-ons to its more recent library titles. Now, in an interview for SyFy Portal, Star Trek‘s Patrick Stewart is mentioned to be doing “voice work for Racing Stripes, The Water Warriors and the upcoming Disney movie, Bambi II“. Other sequels in the works at Disney include another Peter Pan, Mulan II and III, Lilo And Sticth II and Tarzan II. So, 2D is not dead at Disney…it’s just going to look a lot cheaper.
