No, not the Academy Awards (they’re announced on January 27th), but the nominees for this year’s animation industry Annie Awards have been posted on their official site. Up for prizes in the ceremony, to be held February 7th at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, are this year’s animated big hitters Finding Nemo, Brother Bear, Looney Tunes: Back In Action and The Triplets Of Belleville, as well as short subjects Boundin’ and Destino. The other awards cover all areas of animated film production, from storyboarding and vocal talent, to character animation and directing (in features, television and home video), as well as pre-chosen achievement awards given in the names of June Foray, Winsor McCay and Ub Iwerks.
