According to the Big Cartoon Database, prisoners in England will be treated to an educational, animated special – and no, it is not part of their punishment. In fact, the film’s goal is exactly the opposite. The British government’s Marriage and Relationship Support Programme, which commissioned the video, hopes that the cartoon will help make prisoners’ lives a little easier. Employing animated characters and humor, Good To Be Home, created by the Leeds Animation Workshop, shows inmates how to overcome relationship and family problems. “Ex-prisoners with happy home lives are more likely to stay out of prison,” the Leeds Animation Workshop’s Terry Wragg told the Yorkshire Post. “Because the film is animated and light-hearted, it doesn’t preach to people, and hopefully, they will then get more from it.”
