At the WordPlayer forums, Aladdin writers Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio confirm that they were interviewed for the upcoming Platinum Edition of the film. Rossio adds that:

Even though Aladdin is the 3rd highest selling video of all time (behind Titanic and Lion King) and even though the writers receive zero dimes from that …
And even though the DVD is expected to generate another 300 million or so … again, without a dime going to the writers …
… and they know that …
And even though they asked us to do an interview for the DVD as a ‘value added feature’ …
… the studio went out of their way to assure us that there would be ‘no compensation’ for our involvement.
Disney, gotta love ’em.
