The evening began with a red carpet event outside the theater then moved inside where Clay Aiken performed Proud of Your Boy and the audience was treated to the first ever digital theatrical presentation of Aladdin (of which the picture quality was superb). The after party included plenty of Arabic food, snake charmers, fortune tellers, sword swallowers, etc. Attendees included Dick Cook (head of Walt Disney Studios), Ron Clements (co-producer and co-director of Aladdin), Scott Weinger (speaking voice for Aladdin), Linda Larkin (speaking voice for Jasmine), Lea Salonga (singing voice for Jasmine), Gilbert Gottfried and Jonathon Freeman (Iago and Jafar, respectively), animators Eric Goldberg (Genie), Andreas Deja (Jafar), and Raymond Cartwright (Carpet), and Animated News’ representative, Christian Ziebarth.
