The National Public Radio, via Cartoon Research, has a great article about the music of The Triplets of Belleville, and speculates about the film’s chances at the Oscars this year. You can hear several samplings of the film’s soundtrack, as well as the original radio feature’s audio, the film’s trailer, and a complete music video of “Belleville Rendez-vous,” the Oscar-nominated song. In addition, the Digital Bits website has posted Columbia-TriStar’s official specs for the DVD, arriving May 4th. The film will be presented in anamorphic widescreen video with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Extras will include two featurettes (The Cartoon According to writer/director Sylvain Chomet and The Making of The Triplets of Belleville, and three sequences with behind-the-scenes commentary: Opening Sequence, Restaurant Performance and Tuning the Wheel, along with the theatrical trailer and singer M’s music video of the Academy Award-nominated song Belleville Rendezvous.
