‘disneyaholic’ on our Animated News Forum points to a complete listing of Disney DVD and VHS titles (though LD is listed as a format, there are no new planned releases) for the next few months. Many of these look to be price drops and re-prints of older titles, but it’s exciting to see debut titles such as The Gnome Mobile, The Haunted Mansion, Mickey’s Three Musketeers, Mary Poppins – Special Edition, Aladdin – Special Edition and Brother Bear being prepped for release! Remember that although it says the list is “verified by Buena Vista”, any release schedule can only be seen as tentative until the product is in the stores (remember this year’s Disney Treasures disappointment). Also bear in mind that the top of the list still adheres to the pre-Platinum Edition DVD shake-up, which will see the line accelerated to two editions a year, meaning that the whole collection is out by 2007 – so the inclusion of Lady and the Tramp, The Jungle Book, Bambi and 101 Dalmatians is definitely subject to change – but in a good way: it means we get them on disc sooner!
