Broadway.com passes on a Variety report that the cast for the Mary Poppins musical is being fleshed out. Two-time Olivier Award winner Alex Jennings and two-time Olivier Award winner Janie Dee have been offered the roles of Mr. and Mrs. Banks. As we reported earlier this week, Laura Michelle Kelly will play Mary.

Jennings’ credits include his award winning performances in Too Clever by Half and Peer Gynt, The Liar, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Measure for Measure, Much Ado About Nothing, Hamlet, The Winter’s Tale , The Relapse, and My Fair Lady (pictured). Dee’s credits include her award winning performances in Comic Potential (pictured) and Carousel, Betrayal, My One and Only, Between the Lines, Dreams From a Summerhouse, House and Garden, The Women of Troy, Johnny On a Spot, Romeo & Juliet, A Connecticut Yankee, Cabaret, Can Can, Show Boat, Sophisticated Ladies, You Can’t Take It With You, Oklahoma!, The Sound of Music, South Pacific, Enter the Guardsman, and They’re Playing Our Song.
