In the race to see who takes home Oscar gold next year, Finding Nemo seems to be taking a leaf out of Shrek‘s book and going for the big Best Picture prize itself, rather than pushing for Best Animated Feature. ‘Dalboz’, in the Animated News Forums tells us that OscarWatch, an independent site which keeps tabs on all the major players and their award campaigns, has posted the first print ads for Nemo‘s chances, announcing itself for Best Picture, and Best Director. Meanwhile, The Triplets Of Belleville, playing on its recent festival success at Cannes, Telluride and Toronto, is content to aim for the proper Best Animated Feature category.
