The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released the names of the eleven films that will compete for the Best Animated Feature Film Oscar in the next Academy Awards competition. The films that will compete for the three nominations are: Brother Bear, Finding Nemo, Jester Till (Till Eulenspiegel), The Jungle Book 2, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Millenium Actress, Piglet’s Big Movie, Pokèmon Heroes, Rugrats Go Wild!, Tokyo Godfathers, The Triplets of Belleville.

Jester Till (Till Eulenspiegel), Tokyo Godfathers, and The Triplets of Belleville must open in Los Angeles before December 31 to remain eligible. Note that DreamWorks’ 2003 animated feature Sinbad: Legend Of The Seven Seas is not on the list, which probably means that DreamWorks didn’t submit it for nomination or they didn’t meet the submission requirements. The Academy Award nominations will be announced on January 27, 2004. The Awards ceremony will be broadcast February 29, 2004, on ABC.
