Jerry Beck, over on his Cartoon Research Screenings page, reminds the lucky animation fans of LA that tonight sees the first of three events marking a chance to catch some unique and rare films on the big screen. “Forget music – Visit the new Walt Disney Concert Hall in L.A. and watch silent cartoons!” says Beck, referring to Thursday’s Alice’s Wonderland: Walt Disney the Independent, which includes early Laugh-O-Grams, Alice and Oswald Comedies with the original Alice Virginia Davis on hand to reminisce! Sunday’s two showings include the 2003 completion of the 1946 Destino and a tribute to animator and teacher Jules Engel. Contact the REDCAT box office or visit their website for more details.
