The Lego Corporation’s successful collaboration with Disney’s Miramax, the Bionicle series, is about to get an upgrade to its CGI graphics. After the release of the first in the series, Mask Of Light, a second film (currently in production and simply referred to as Bioncicle 2 at this point) is on the way for a DVD release, to be followed by a third, as yet un-named project which will have a large-scale theatrical issue. The Hollywood Reporter has more news on the film, which would see Miramax jumping on the CGI wagon, though not its first forays into animation, after the dismal perfromances of a botched Arabian Knight re-edit of Richard Williams’ The Thief And The Cobbler, the direct to video Adventures Of Tom Thumb And Thumbelina and the continuing Pokemon franchise.
