The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that The American Film Institute will “honor the songs of Hollywood in its ongoing celebration of 100 years of American movies with AFI’s 100 Years … 100 Songs: America’s Greatest Music in the Movies. The three-hour special, airing in June 2004 on CBS, will count down the 100 greatest movie songs “as chosen by experts in the film community, including directors, screenwriters, actors, editors, cinematographers, critics and historians”. Since music has always been an important part of animation, there should be several selections from animated movies.
