Five 2013 animation filmmakers sit down for discussion… again

If this previously reported L.A. Times discussion got you wanting more, The Hollywood Reporter also had a roundtable with five of the filmmakers behind this year’s top films: Chris Buck, director of Frozen; Dan Scanlon, director of Monsters University; Chris Wedge, director of Epic and a Blue Sky Studios’ founder; Kristine Belson, producer on The Croods; and Chris Meledandri, Illumination CEO and a producer of Despicable Me 2. They discuss topics such as the green lighting process (or lack thereof), casting voice actors, the risk of too many films cannibalizing one another, the “animation” of the film Gravity, the costs of productions, and whether 3D is now standard for animated movies.
