It’s been quite some time since we heard any news regarding Enchanted 2, which was first announced shortly after the original became a big hit way back in 2007 (and more or less “relaunched” a string of fairy tale blockbusters for Disney). Now, Deadline is reporting that the sequel is back on track, with Smurfs and Shrek 2 writers David Stem and David N. Weiss being hired to work on the screenplay. There is still no release date set for the film–or any confirmation that star Amy Adams will return, for that matter–, but it is set to be directed by Anne Fletcher (who also helmed the popular romantic comedy The Proposal for the studio back in 2009).
