Animated News Logo Archive

Just a week after launching Animated News in 2003, we started a tradition that would become a trademark – changing our logo for holidays and film openings. The longest running thread in our forum is a discussion about them. When we attended Comic-Con in 2008, a mention of our name during a discussion with an animation historian was followed by "you're the guys who do the logos!" And an Academy Award nominated animator even contributed one he made for us based on his latest film.

As you'll be able to see, we started off with just small, basic changes but as the idea became more and more popular our efforts became more and more elaborate. Unfortunately, when we merged and redesigned Animated News and Animated Views in 2009, there wasn't as much room for the logo. And with upwards of 15 animated films coming out a year these days, it was beginning to take an insane amount of time to keep up with them all.

Here is a look back at how we celebrated movies and other special days from 2003 to 2013. To view the slideshow, click the arrows below or use the left and right arrows on your keyboard.
