The Gundam franchise is to Japan as Star Wars is to the US. Combining anime, manga, and toys–generally model kits–the name Gundam is a multi-million platform. On June 25, the Bandai Channel will announce the next project for the Gundamname on its website. Will it be a new anime? Will it continue previous Gundam canons or will it create a whole new universe?
