A live-action remake of hit Japanese anime Kite is scheduled to go into production in January 2012, reports /Film. David R. Elliswill, director of Final Destination 2 and Snakes on a Plane will helm this new live-action version. Known for its excessive violence and explicit content, the 1998 original Kite was written and directed by Yasuomi Umetsu.
