Peter Gabriel has withdrawn from performing at the Oscars after the Academy Award nominated singer was told he would perform his nominated track “Down to Earth” from Wall-E for only 65 seconds in a medley of the nominated songs, reports Variety. In a video on his website, Gabriel said, “It’s a bit unfortunate. The songwriters are a very small part of the filmmaking process but we still work bloody hard and deserve (a bigger part in the ceremony).”
