The Associated Press reports that a children’s advocacy group wants the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to drop Shrek from his role as spokesman for an anti-obesity drive. The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood says that Shrek The Third has too many promotional ties with unhealthy foods to justify using Shrek as a health advocate. The ad campaign, which seeks to curtail childhood obesity, features ads in which Shrek and his fellow characters urge children to exercise at least an hour a day. The commercials can be viewed on Youtube.
