That's the first thing I thought, too... Mars rover, or something.
Hmm, another vehicle, eh? He really doesn't look like much; he'll have to have one heck of an awesome personality to be relatable. That was just my initial reaction, of course... I know Pixar is capable of pulling it off. Question is... will they?

YCouger - If George Lucas can make R2-D2 act like a puppy dog, then just imagine what the Pixar artists will do with this little guy.
And yeah -- "Mars rover". That's what I was thinking of!

First thing I thought of was "Old B.O.B.," from The Black Hole ..
.. I'm not sure that's a good thing ..
.. but Pixar always seems to have a knack for making me 'doubtful' with the early tastes & teasers, and then 'blowing me away' with the finished product .. so I will wait-and-see ..

Wowee! The first screenshot, I think I may pass out. And after reading that letter to the shareholders I think we have some real gems from Disney in the pipeline.

Interesting - usually the first images Pixar releases for their movies are bright, colorful and happy...This one is a bit more dark and depressing looking - which I love. The robot is adorable, and he looks different than the Pixar norm as well.
Looking foward to more!

Hmm, trust Jim? Nah!
I would say no, to the no dialogue thing to. That would be crazy, and I doubt it would hold anyones attention for very long.
Btw, love the new sig, JV!

Dialogue free eh? Hmm...That would be interesting, but I agree, it doesn't sound very plausible. If it were an animated short, I'd believe it, but...
BTW - I wasn't expecting to see anything from this for a few months - what's up with it the pics being released so soon?
