IGN Video has the trailer for the upcoming Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths direct-to-video animated movie. It is scheduled for release in Spring 2010.

American Dad renewed for Sixth Season!

IGN reports Seth Macfarlan’s American Dad has been renewed for a sixth season on Fox. This means all three MacFarlane series – including Family Guy, and the Cleveland Show – will be returning next year.

Three Warner animated classics coming to Blu-ray

Blu-ray.com reports Warner has announced three animated titles to be released on Blu-ray October 6, 2009. The animated Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, (not to confused with its theatrical counterpart) Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who!, and lastly A Charlie Brown Christmas. All three titles will be released as “Deluxe Editions” and arrive as “combo packs” which will include a copy of the special on DVD and a bonus digital copy. Extras for the Grinch are still unconfirmed, while Horton special features include “In Search of Dr. Seuss”, a sing-along music video “You Can Heart Horton, Horton Can Hear You!”, and two other animated Dr. Seuss shorts: “The Butter Battle Book” (directed by Ralph Bakshi) and “Daisy-Head Mayzie”. A Charlie Brown Christmas will include a bonus Peanuts TV special, It’s Christmas Time Again, Charlie Brown, and a featurette. Cover art can be seen here, courtesy of TV Shows on DVD.

Dallas McKennon 1919-2009

Cartoon Brew reports Dallas Mckennon, the lengendary voice of the iconic claymation Gumby, died this past Tuesday, July 14th. Mckennon was also known as the voice of Archie Andrew in the Archie cartoons, as well as a voice actor for many Disney films, including Sleeping Beauty and Lady & the Tramp. He was 89.

Variety reports Magic Lantern Entertainment has entered into a joint agreement with FitzRoy Media to develop a range of properties, from direct-to-DVD toons to a potential live-action theatrical feature, around the flabby tabby, updating the popular comicstrip character for the 21st century.

Penguins of Madagascar interview

Toy Story 3 plot details revealed

According to The Associated Press, during the premiere of Disney/Pixar’s Up at the the Cannes Film Festival, early rumors were confirmed that Toy Story 3 would show what happens after Andy grows up and goes to college. Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter stated “The thing they worry about the most is all the things in life that prevent them from being played with, and probably the thing they fear the most is being outgrown.” Ed Catmull also added “It feels like the summation of a trilogy,” adding that the filmmakers had hit on a big emotional finish to Toy Story 3.

Pixar's Up wins first award at Cannes

The BBC News reports the talking dog named Dug from the animated Disney/Pixar film Up has won the Palm Dog, a comic alternative to the Cannes Film Festival’s main prize, the Palme d’Or. This is the film’s first award after its debut at the Cannes Film Festival.
