|
| Super Friends: Season One, Volume Two
by Randall Cyrenne, July 23, 2010
The balance of the first season’s episodes are included on this 2-disc set. Fans know what to expect here, with the only question being: just how many times can Wendy and Marvin get kidnapped in eight episodes?

| The 100 Greatest Looney Tunes Cartoons
by Ben Simon, July 8, 2010
Lavishly illustrated on quality paper, Jerry Beck’s new book unfortunately doesn’t bring an awfully lot new to the published Looney Tunes canon, though it is undeniably exceptional value for money.
|
| Tom & Jerry: Deluxe Anniversary Collection
by Ben Simon, July 5, 2010
An enticing prospect, this career retrospective is ruined by poor presentation and, seven Oscar winners aside, weak and random cartoon choices, barely saved by one lone decent supplement.
|

by Ben Simon, June 30, 2010
Red “I dood it!” Skelton, the comic that launched numerous classic cartoon catchphrases, stars in his signature Whistling trilogy, here fittingly collected in the Warner Archive Collection.

| Toy Story 3
by James R Whitson, June 21, 2010
Toy Story 3 is that rare second sequel that tops its predecessors. At times a laugh out loud comedy and an edge of your seat thriller, all tied together with a moving storyline that will touch both young and old.
|
| Shrek Forever After
by James R Whitson, June 6, 2010
Despite a few bumps along the way, Shrek Forever After is a fine and fitting final outing. Things have wrapped up fairly happily ever after for fans of the franchise.
|
| Alice In Wonderland
by Ben Simon, June 1, 2010
Tim Burton’s visually striking take on Lewis Carroll’s Alice books mixes in a bit of the previous 1951 and 1972 features to come up with a compelling continuation of sorts. The disc includes a number of interesting extras, none of which are quite in-depth enough.
|
| Peanuts 1970’s Collection: Vol. 2
by Randall Cyrenne, May 30, 2010
The biggest classics may have gone before, but this selection of specials is still quintessential Peanuts, with only one weak one in the batch. And check out that remastered video!
|
| Iron Man – Armored Adventures: The Complete Season One
by Randall Cyrenne, May 26, 2010
The show is quite enjoyable, but it really should be called Iron Boy. The lack of widescreen video or any decent extras are other knocks against what is otherwise a nice set of 26 episodes.
|
| Saturday Morning Cartoons – 1980s: Volume 1
by Rodney Figueiredo, May 19, 2010
Eleven Saturday Morning cartoons from the 1980s are combined in this two disc set featuring some of the many shows produced by Hanna-Barbera and Ruby-Spears during the decade.
|
| Iron Man: The Complete 1994 Animated Television Series
by Randall Cyrenne, May 18, 2010
This version stays reasonably true to the comics, but fails to reach the heights of its contemporaries. Season Two improves with better stories and animation, but weak video and a lack of extras hurt this DVD release.
|
| My Life With Charlie Brown
by Randall Cyrenne, May 17, 2010
This collection of prose writings from Charles Schulz provides the next-best thing to a true autobiography. It also finally made me understand why I love Peanuts so much.

| The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!
by Randall Cyrenne, May 10, 2010
There’s a good story outline in here somewhere, but being totally uncensored did this direct-to-video title no favors.
|
| Warner Archive: The Amazing Captain Nemo
by Ben Simon, April 27, 2010
Producer Irwin Allen earns his Master Of Disaster tag for all the wrong reasons in this unintentionally hilarious slice of classic kitsch. They sure don’t make ’em like this anymore!
|
| The Lord Of The Rings: Remastered Deluxe Edition
by Ben Simon, April 22, 2010
Ralph Bakshi’s ambitious but wildly uneven animated take on the first half of Tolkien’s trilogy remains a frustrating work, but Warners’ new Blu-ray and DVD combo at least offers the opportunity of a fresh look.
|
| Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey
by Ben Simon, April 15, 2010
Those who liked the first Curious George movie should be more than curious about the little mischievous monkey’s second feature length outing, even if it’s just a bit of fluffy, non-groundbreaking fun.
|
| Fantastic Mr. Fox
by Ben Simon, April 6, 2010
Wes Anderson’s fantastic film of Roald Dahl’s children’s crime caper will enchant most, and even if Fox’s disc isn’t exactly packed with extras, there are still some well-rounded supplements and exemplary technical aspects to be enjoyed.

by Dacey, July 28, 2010
With Tron: Legacy being seen as such an anticipated movie on so many movie websites, it’s sometimes hard to remember that the original film was a box office disappointment. The New York Times looks into how Disney is doing everything in their power to make sure that doesn’t happen again with the sequel, including marketing the movie at Comic Con three years in a row. “People look to Comic-Con to guide their moviegoing decisions for the rest of the year,” said Disney’s president for production, Sean Bailey. “It’s a barometer of what’s cool.”

The third (and presumably final) Family Guy Star Wars spoof is set to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray this holiday season. Titled Family Guy: It's a Trap, the special will follow the plot of Return of the Jedi, with the Family Guy cast reprising their "roles" from the first two specials, including Peter as Han Solo, Lois as Princess Leia and Stewie as Darth Vader. The most curious thing about the various cameo voice spots to be featured in the special might be the news that conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh will have a small part as the voice of the monsterous Rancor. In addition to being released on its own, all three Family Guy Star Wars specials are to be released as a special triple pack on Blu-Ray and DVD on December 21st. Giant Freakin Robot has more details on the release.

Guillermo del Toro heading to The Haunted Mansion
by Dacey, July 22, 2010
He may no longer be going to Middle Earth for The Hobbit, but Guillermo del Toro is set to go to another famous location: Disney's The Haunted Mansion. The man behind Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth is signed on to co-write and produce a reboot, which will in no way be related to the 2003 Eddie Murphy comedy, which while a decent enough box office hit earned a mixed response from critics and audiences. “Dark imagery is an integral part of the Walt Disney legacy," del Toro said. “I couldn't be more excited to be a part of my own adaptation of the original theme park attraction Walt envisioned and that remains- for me- the most desirable piece of real estate in the whole world!"
Pixar’s great Muppet caper
by Ben, July 22, 2010
It seems Disney is leaning on Pixar for a little more than just their own animation department: as well as reports of the CG studio offering notes for a round of Tron: Legacy reshoots, The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Pixar’s Brain Trust has been involved in how to successfully revive Jim Henson’s Muppets, with a table read of the characters’ latest proposed movie taking place at their Emeryville campus. The trust, including John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton, Michael Arndt, Bob Peterson and Ed Catmull, were all at the read, with Monsters, Inc. and Up director Docter particularly said to be a Muppets fan. “If you want good ideas, why not talk to the Brain Trust?” says Disney exec Sean Bailey, who has been overseeing the release of a string of summer duds in relation to Pixar’s 11th straight hit, Toy Story 3.
