Kung Fu Panda 3 opens

DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda 3[1] opens today in 3,955 theatres according to Box Office Mojo[2]. The film is doing well with the critics, with a 79% at Rotten Tomatoes[3]. Their critical consensus: “Kung Fu Panda 3 boasts the requisite visual splendor, but like its rotund protagonist, this sequel’s narrative is also surprisingly nimble, adding up to animated fun for the whole family”. It should easily take the weekend crown, with BOM[4] projecting a $52.4 million take, while Box Office Prophets[5] predicts a lower but still weekend topping $38.4 million.
