Home opens

homeDreamWorks’ Home[1] opens today in 3,708 theatres according to Box Office Mojo[2]. The film isn’t winning over the critics, with a 42% Rotten Tomatoes[3] score. Their consensus: “Colorful, silly, and utterly benign, Home is a passable diversion, but there’s no shortage of superior animated alternatives”. BOM[4] projects a tight race for the weekend box with Home barely being edged out of first place with $33 million. Box Office Prophets[5] predicts a similar photo finish, with Home just missing the top spot with $26.6 million.
