The Grinch is returning to the big screen

Variety[1] is reporting that Illumination Entertainment, the studio responsible for last year’s blockbuster The Lorax, is now planning to adapt another Dr. Seuss classic, but this time it will be one more familier to most audiences. The site is saying that plans for an animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas movie are being made, with Pete Candeland (an animator on Balto among a few other things) helming the project. The book, of course, has been made into a movie before, with the incredibly popular Jim Carrey film still holding the record for highest grossing Christmas movie of all time. No release date for the animated feature has been set yet.
