Jon M. Chu gives Masters of the Universe update

Long in development hell, Sony Pictures has been trying to get a live-action Masters of the Universe movie off the ground for years. The project finally found a director in G.I. Joe: Retaliation’s Jon. M Chu, but judging from a recent interview he gave with ComingSoon.Net[1], it sounds like it’s going to be a long time before cameras actually get rolling. “I love ‘Masters of the Universe,’ but I didn’t know necessarily how to make it into a movie until I read the script and thought, ‘Oh my gosh, I totally see it. I get how this is going to shake it up, I get how this is different from any other thing,’ and it got me really really excited,” he said, adding that the focus right now is to get a third G.I. Joe film into theaters before placing full attention on Masters. It should go without saying that there is no release date for the movie at this point.
