Is Family Guy going to kill off a major character? Has an American Dad movie been confirmed?

Exciting movie and TV news just keeps pouring in this weekend from Comic-Con, and the panels for FOX’s popular cartoon shows American Dad and Family Guy were no exception…or were they? During the panel for Dad, Zap 2 It[1] reports that series co-creator Mike Barker strongly hinted that an American Dad movie might be close to going into production, saying that it would take place on Roger the alien’s home planet and teased that it “might already be partly written.” For Family Guy. however, the news may be more grim, as they opened by saying that one of the show’s six main characters would be killed[2] and replaced with a new character in the upcoming season. Since Family Guy is a comedy show, of course, it’s possible that this was just a joke, especially since all of the Griffins are apparently going to be in the series’ upcoming Simpsons crossover. In any case, fans can look forward to new episodes of both Dad and Family Guy this September.
