puppetoon-movieCourtesy of a Facebook post by Jerry Beck’s Animation Scoop[1] blog, we learned of an October release of The Puppetoon Movie on Blu-ray, in a deluxe 2-disc set. This compilation feature contains many of the 1940 stop-motion mini masterpieces, along with new bridging animation with more modern animation stars. This limited edition will have only 3000 copies available, and will also include the live action-animation hybrid film The Great Rupert, as well as the Fantasy Film Worlds Of George Pal documentary. Additionally, there will be several Puppetoon shorts new to disc, presented in HD, as well as more in standard definition. Several other new bonus features will likewise be included. Among the new-to-disc shorts will be two based on Dr. Seuss stories, previously only glimpsed in the In Search of Dr. Seuss documentary, and otherwise not seen in ages. You may order this Blu-ray right now from B2MP[2].
