Epic opens

Fox/Blue Sky’s Epic[1] opens today in 3,882 theatres according to Box Office Mojo[2]. The film is getting middling reviews from the critics with a barely fresh 63% rating at Rotten Tomatoes[3]. Their consensus is that “though its narrative themes are all too familiar, Epic is beautifully animated and crafted with just enough flair to make for solid family entertainment”. Box Office Prophets[4] predicts a 4th place finish on this busy opening weekend with a $32.8 million take.
