Aladdin coming to Broadway

Disney Theatrical Productions has officially announced[1] that the 1992 animated film Aladdin is getting the Broadway treatment. A pre-Broadway run will take place at Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre from November 13, 2013 to January 12, 2014. The show will get its big opening on the Great White Way at the New Amsterdam Theatre in 2014. The show will feature music by Alan Menken lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, and Chad Beguelin, a book by Beguelin, and direction and choreography by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, The Drowsy Chaperone).
