Toei Animation announced the loss of one of its earliest animators Akira Daikubara[1]. He worked on Japan’s first colored anime film Hakujaden and also the first animated film to be distributed in North America Magic Boy. He had a pneumatic infection, dying at age 94. On the brighter side, Toei recently selected Katushiro Takagi[2] to head the animation company. Takagi has worked at the company for over 30 years and he hopes to increase international relationships and expand animation.
