The Hobbit finally begins production

After years of delays, Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit has finally begun production, E! Online[1] is reporting. The director of the Lord of the Rings trilogy marked the occassion by posting some photos of himself on the film’s set on his Facebook page[2]. A highly anticipated project to say the least, the first Hobbit film is set to come to theaters in time for the holiday season of 2012, with the second one set to come out at the same time the following year.
