In light of the three month anniversary of the earthquake that rocked Japan and sent the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into a near meltdown, Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli [1]hung a banner on top of their building that reads, “Studio Ghibli wa Gen-Patsu Nuki no Denki de Eiga o Tsukuritai” or “Studio Ghibli Wants to Make Movies With Electricity That Isn’t From Nuclear Power.” Studio Ghibli is located in the Kanto region of Tokyo and they have been experiencing numerous power outages. When asked to make a statement about the banner the studio made no comment.
