Preserving Animation’s History: S/R Animation Conservation Center

S/R Animation Conservation Center[1] has a yearly auction with rare pieces of animation history up for sale. While the auction is interesting, the work S/R does to preserve these pieces is even better. They painstakingly restore cells that were once used in the great Disney classics. The S/R team examines each color in a damaged cell, duplicating them by using old pen nibs and the wonders of modern chemistry. S/R is now an official Disney licensee and a new chapter of magic can begin for the museum/laboratory.
