Pixar sued over “stolen” Cars

A British screenwriter has sued Disney and Pixar[1], claiming that they stole an idea that he submitted to them and used it to make Cars. According to him, the pitch that he gave to them and other studios in the 90s involved a world inhabited by talking cars and even had the same title. The writer in question wants to stop the release of this summer’s Cars 2, although the chances of that actually happening seem pretty unlikely. Pixar has yet to make a public statement regarding the story.
