Sad news for the anime community. Satoshi Kon passed away in the recent months and now Toyoo Ashida has joined him in the big animation studio in the sky. Ashida was the director for legendary anime Fist Of The North Star (first two TV series and the movie), Vampire Hunter D OAV, and The World Of Narue. He was a designer on Cyborg 009 (1979 version) and many others. He was also one of the co-founders of the Japanese Animation Creators Association and a mentor to many notable animators. Give our regards to Disney, Tezuka, and Jones.
