Why do we cry so easily at animated films?

Time[1] looks at why adults let loose with the waterworks so easily when watching animated films. Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich posits that, “Live action movies are someone else’s story. With animation, audiences can’t think that. Their guards are down.”
