What Ever Happened to Newt?

Disney/Pixar’s Newt was scheduled for a 2012 release. Recently however, Disney veteran Floyd Norman commented that “Newt is dead” on The Animation Guild Blog[1]. Pixar hasn’t said anything about it, so it’s still unconfirmed at this point.
