Up, Avatar score PGA wins, BAFTA nods

Up and Avatar continue to rake in the awards and nominations. Up picked up BAFTA[1] nominations for Best Screenplay, Music, Sound and Animated Film. Coraline and Fantastic Mr. Fox also picked up Best Animated Film nominations. Avatar was tapped for nominations in the Best Film, Director, Music, Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Sound, and Special Visual Effects, categories. Best Short Animation noms went to The Happy Duckling, Mother of Many, and The Gruffalo. Meanwhile, at the Producers Guild Awards, Up and Avatar lost the top award, but Up won for Animated Film, according to Variety[2]. In addition, John Lasseter was given a career achievement award.
