On the heels of its Annie Awards and Grammy Awards nominations, there are more honors for Up.

The National Board of Review announced its award winners for 2009, to be presented in a ceremony on January 12.

First, Up was named to the NBR’s Top 10 films of the year list, honoring the ten best reviewed films of the year. Joining Up on the list are (in alphabetical order):

* An Education
* (500) Days Of Summer
* The Hurt Locker
* Inglourious Basterds
* Invictus
* The Messenger
* A Serious Man
* Star Trek
* Where the Wild Things Are

Also, Up was honored with an award for the Best Animated Film of 2009.

Furthermore, the NBR resurrected its Special Filmmaking Achievement Award, which was given to Wes Anderson for The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
