bb.jpg[1]Cartoon Brew[2] points to a pair of recent radio interviews with writer-director Brad Bird which are worth a listen. The first interview[3] elaborates on what he thinks is wrong with Hollywood filmmaking and about how animation is treated at the Academy Awards. The second interview[4] gets off to quite a bad start when the host refers to animation as a “genre”, a misconception Bird has fought against on numerous occasions. Bird also discusses how he came onto Ratatouille midway through the film’s development.
