MTV Movies showcases a short video-interview with M. Night Shyamalan, also found on the latest Avatar DVD, in which the director explains why he decided to helm the upcoming live-action adaption of Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender. According to the Shyamalan, it was the animated series’ “cool fighting scenes,” its supernatural elements and its Eastern influence.
