Yahoo News reports that the demand for rats as pets has surged after the release of the latest Disney/Pixar animated film, Ratatouille, in Britain. According to the Pets at Home domestic pet chain, rat sales have surged 50 percent since the film opened in Britain on October 12. Company spokesman Steve Fairburn says on the UKPets website, “It’s early doors yet, but it seems Ratatouille has done wonders for the image of rats.”
