Dean Wellins to co-direct Rapunzel

As discovered at the Ultimate Disney Forum[1], the online spot Laughing Place[2] reports that Dean Wellins will co-direct Rapunzel with Glean Keane for Walt Disney Animation Studios. Having worked with Keane on the character John Silver for Treasure Planet, Wellins was named Head of Story on American Dog, a post he then left to help helm Rapunzel. At this time, the film is scheduled to enter theaters in 2009.
