Toontown heads for double trouble

The London Times[1] offers this article on the animation industry and CG films past, present and future. Features interviews with Sam Fell (director of Flushed Away), George Miller (director of Happy Feet), Julia Pistor (Nickelodeon) and Yair Landau (Sony). The verdict? Too many movies, too few ideas, too much product. As Miller observes, “The similarity of some cartoons this year is undeniable.” Fell states, “Perhaps it’s the LA sunshine, but American cartoons have this brighter, sleeker look that can tend to look the same.” Will the bubble be bursting very soon?
