Cars second trailer debuting Thursday; website revved up

Coming Soon[1] indicates that the second trailer for Disney/Pixar’s Cars will hit a wide variety of media outlets this Thursday, March 9, at 8pm. Anyone wishing to view the trailer may then do so through Disney Channel, Toon Disney, ABC Family, SOAPNet, Lifetime Television, Lifetime Movie Network, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, ESPNews, ESPNU, Starz, Starz Kids & Family, Starz Comedy, Starz Edge, Starz Cinema, Starz HDTV, and Starz On Demand. AOL will likewise serve the trailer, offering it on on the AOL Welcome Screen, AOL.com, Moviefone, AOL Red, KOL, and AOL Music. Meanwhile, the ABC SuperSign in New York’s Time Square will show the trailer, as will hotel rooms and retail outlets at Disney theme parks and resorts around the world.

In other Cars news, the movie’s official website[2] has been updated. In addition to such standard features as downloads and videos, the site now sports a showroom, presenting information about the film’s major characters. At the moment, Lightning McQueen is the only car on show, although, according to Upcoming Pixar[3], Mater (March 10), Sally (March 17), and Doc Hudson (March 24) will soon arrive as well.
